App of the Week - Highball

App of the Week, Highball (Geek Chicago)

There’s nothing like gathering with friends to try a new, exciting drink, is there? Whether you’re serving as an amateur mixologist at home, or coming together at your local speakeasy to sip something tasty, cocktails are a great way to experiment with different flavors while discovering what makes the classics work.

For those Geeks out there who love to make and share creative cocktails, Highball could just be your new favorite app.

Developed by Studio Neat, the Highball app is a great way to log, discover, and share cocktail recipes, from the classics to the cutting edge. For serious spirit aficionados, the app is a great way to store and share your favorite recipes, so you never have to hit the bar empty-handed.

When you first start with the app, Highball immediately presents you with a few cocktail recipes to try out, including classics like an Old Fashioned and Mint Julep. But the main focus of this app is to give users a chance to create their own mixed drink recipe cards, giving you the handy ability to “choose the ingredients, description, and custom drink image for each recipe,” according to the app’s description.

So, after you discover a new favorite, you’ll be able to create and effortlessly share the recipe card with fellow cocktail lovers on your social media page. Whether you mix up something tasty at home, or you want to immediately remember the delicious homemade drink you tried at the bar, Highball is an easy way to store and share the information you need to drink well, all at your fingertips.

And if you’re lacking the tools to make the perfect cocktail, the app’s developer Studio Neat include a link to their online store to purchase various kits and gadgets, including a Neat Ice Kit, Simple Syrup Kit, muddler, and more.

Ready to start collecting and sharing your favorite drink recipes? Highball is available to download in the App Store for free.
